Past Scholarship Winners

Kenneth Dick
Mr. Dick is working towards a dual-major in Finance and Supply Chain Management at Syracuse University. In addition to his studies, he is a Teacher's Assistance for Supply Chain Management 265 and 403 at the Whitman School of Management. Last summer he interned at Gorton's Seafood Inc., where he was responsible for purchasing approximately 2 million dollars of packaging materials to maintain plant operations, among other duties. He will be graduating this May.

Karoline Rueckerl
Ms. Rueckerl is earning her BS in Supply Chain Management at Pennsylvania State University. Over the past two years she's served as co-op for BMW in Germany and Project Steering in South Carolina. Additionally, she serves as the Director of Mentorship for the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and received the Traffic Club of Pittsburgh 2014 Scholarship. She will also be graduating this May.

Jade Adams
Jade was awarded as a senior at Penn State University's Smeal College of Business. She is a Supply Chain major, minoring in Management Information Systems. She is a member of both the Schreyer Honors College and the Sapphire Leadership Program. Jade was a co-op at Johnson and Johnson and an intern at Unilever. Upon graduation Jade will be joining Unilever's Future Leaders Program.

Evan Chen
Evan was awarded as a senior at Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business studying Supply Chain and Information Systems. Last summer Evan did a 7-month Co-Op at Honda of America Mfg., Inc. in Columbus, Ohio as a Mass Production Delivery & Packaging Associate. Evan is currently a Co-Op at Mars Chocolate North America in Hackettstown, New Jersey in the demand fulfillment department. He is an active member of the Association for Operations Management (APICS) at Penn State. Upon graduation, he wants to pursue a supply chain career and eventually obtain his masters in Supply Chain Management.

Markea Dickinson
Markea is currently a senior in the Smeal College of Business at Pennsylvania State University. As a scholar in the Schreyer Honor's College, her field of study is Supply Chain and Information Systems, with minors in Spanish and International Business. Throughout her collegiate career, she has held three Supply Chain internships in various divisions of United Technologies. Markea's diverse ranges of experiences include planning, materials management and global procurement. She is looking forward to launching her career in the Unilever Future Leaders Program upon graduation, and continuing to explore and ascend in the exciting world of operations and logistics.

Tyler Toporowski - $2500

Tyler Toporowski was awarded the scholarship as a senior in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. He is a supply chain management major and active member of the Franklin Supply Chain Group. Tyler's previous internship was in the purchasing department of Xylem Inc. a global water technology provider. His roles included sourcing, purchasing, planning, scheduling, and logistics functions. Tyler looked to build a supply chain career after graduation, eventually leading to the C-level suite.

Xiao (Lydia) Li - $2,500

Xiao was awarded as a junior at Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business studying Logistics Management. Xiao held three internships during college. She interned at Shenzhen Metro Co., LTD at Shenzhen,China as a Transportation Consulting Assistant. Xiao also worked at China Southern Airlines (Global Headquarter) at Guangzhou, China as a Team Member of Marketing Department. Xiao has been an active member of Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), Columbus Roundtable. Xiao's goal is to continue for a graduate Logistics program and work in the Transportation or Logistics Industry after she graduates.

Dale Eshbach - $3000

Dale Eshbach was selected to receive a $3,000 award. Dale was awarded the scholarship as a senior at Pennsylvania State University's Smeal College of Business studying Supply Chain and Information Systems. Dale held two internships during college. He interned at Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix, AZ as a Materials Planner. Dale also worked at W.W. Grainger in Harrisburg, PA and was placed in the management trainee program. He is an active member of the Penn State SAP Interest Group and the Council of Supply Change Management Professionals Group.

Cody Jones $2000

Cody Jones was selected to receive a $2,000 scholarship award. Cody is currently a junior at Colorado State University (CSU) where he working towards a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Supply Chain Management. This past summer Cody interned at Forney Industries in the Operations department where he implemented procedures for inventory accurateness. Upon graduation, Cody's goal is to serve as an officer in Army Logistics.

Katlyn Burney (unable to attend the event) - $2500

Katlyn Burney is an undergraduate student at Iowa State University. She is a Supply Chain Management major with an emphasis on Logistics and Operations. An honors student at Iowa State, Katie is very active in the Supply Chain Management Club as well as many other campus clubs and activities. She has obtained industry experience working with the Genesis Systems Group as a material purchasing intern after her freshmen year. This summer Katlyn, will work for ConAgra Foods, Inc. as an Associate Logistics Professional. She has plans for a third internship between her junior and senior years of college.

Zitao (Arthur) Zhang - $2500

Zitao (Arthur) Zhang, a native of Beijing, China, is a 5th-year Ph.D. candidate at Northwestern University. Specialized in Transportation & Logistics, his research topic is mainly focused on the transportation investment and pricing decisions. During his Ph.D. study, he also got involved with various internships at Northwest Airlines, CSX Railroads, and Roland Berger Strategy Consultants.
His current interest is to master snowboarding skills!
